My Personal Story

Empowered People Imitating Christ

First and foremost, I’m an empowered individual imitating Christ as I live out my day-to-day life.

I gave my heart to the LORD at the tender age of around 14 years ago and have never taken it back.

I love to travel and have visited many countries for pleasure. I have also had numerous opportunities to minister at women’s conferences. My first assignment was in Sudan and following that I’ve ministered in Jamaica, Barcelona, Uganda and South Africa, as well at seminars and conferences in the UK.

I have authored two books. The first one, ‘Insightful Tips for the Unique ‘Mature’ Single, in Her Wait For Mr Right’ was published in 2006. And the second one, a romance novel, ‘Second Glances’ was published in April 2022. I also had the opportunity to write one of the essays (‘When, God When?’) in the anthropology, ‘Black Christian Single’ by Marcia Dixon MBE, which was published in 2022. A collection of essays about singleness in Britain’s Black Pentecostal Churches.

To be honest, prior to publishing my books, I didn’t know that I was an author.  But I guess the saying is true in that “there’s a book in each and every one of us”.

The motivation for my first book was borne out of what I observed in the church amongst Christian single women, which thankfully has significantly changed today. It seemed that women were putting their lives on ‘hold’ whilst waiting for their life partner and therefore weren’t tapping into their full potential of being that ‘Unique Single with Purpose’.

I saw something wrong with that picture and felt that we should be living active and vibrant lives that glorified God. That meant, we could buy that house or car we desired. We could enjoy elaborate holidays and generally live our lives to the full.

I just started out journaling my thoughts, not knowing that I was formulating a book and came up with some tips that could encourage and empower the single woman on the road she was, whilst waiting for her Boaz to arrive on the scene.

Having been on this ‘road’ for a long while, I have determined not to allow my status to define who I am as an individual. And have been passionate about empowering others to be the best versions of themselves, whether that be as a single or married individual.

As I share empowering nuggets for you on this platform, I prayer that you will be encouraged and inspired to live EPIC lives; ‘Empowered People Imitating Christ’.
